No. 35 | Iceland Volcanic Rock Lidded Jar (Limited Edition)

A white porcelain jar that has volcanic rock from Iceland incorporated. After processing the volcanic rock by breaking it down into small pieces, I wedged the sieved granules into porcelain, and threw and trimmed normally. During the trimming stage, I added embedded lines.

Due to the variation in the wild material, this piece is not completely smooth on the outside. You can feel the pieces of rock, which have been lightly wet sanded, though purposely left raised so you can feel the natural material.

Approximate Volume: 220ml

Hand-thrown and fired to 2200°F in oxidation

Glaze is hand-mixed from raw materials, is non-toxic and food-safe
