No.43 | Kazbegi, Georgia Tumbler (Limited Edition)

$82.00

A white porcelain tumbler that has wild slate from the mountains of Kazbegi, Gerogia. After processing the slate by breaking it down into small pieces, I wedged the sieved granules into porcelain, and threw and trimmed normally. During the trimming stage, I added two black slip lines.

This piece has the latitude and longitude stamped onto the base, which reflect the exact location where the slate is from.

Due to the variation in the wild material, this piece is not completely smooth on the outside. You can feel the pieces of slate, which have been lightly wet sanded, though purposely left raised so you can feel the natural material.

Approximate Volume: 215ml

Hand-thrown and fired to 2200°F in oxidation

Glaze is hand-mixed from raw materials, is non-toxic and food-safe

Made in Brooklyn, NY
